Evaluation
A comprehensive assessment carried out by a Speech Language Pathologist. Typically, an evaluation is comprised of family/parental interview, language sample, formal and/or informal assessment measures and clinical observation. Conducted for the purpose of describing strengths and weaknesses and/or determining the presence of speech, language and/or swallowing impairments. When necessary, a plan of care is established to set individualized goals based on results obtained during the evaluation process.
After an evaluation, you can expect a report and description/analysis of results. If therapy is warranted, explanation of goals and expectations for therapy will be established and provided.
